Chapter 21 – Toro Breakout

Razorwing’s Viewpoint

I stayed with Rayna again on Saturday night, and she was humored that I had to use a towel, as my costume had been incinerated by Carey late that night.

Sunday morning, I flew with Rayna back to my mansion just out of Metrocity on the east side. We were soaked by the time we arrived, and we changed into robes and stopped to see the pair of living statues Rayna had created.

We had a pleasant brunch with Maris, the head of the few staff members in my employ. Maris was pleasant, but she was clearly jealous of the blonde, beautiful heroine with me.

I had never intended to get the pretty Haitian girl to love me, but ever since I found her in the ruins of Haiti after the major hurricane devastated the city she lived in, she seemed to have built a strong attachment to me.

I picked up a backup costume and armor pieces, and we geared up and flew back to the Overlook. We put ourselves on active duty, and then went to the command center. The boys, Jim and Mike, as well as the aliens, Tiriffa and Serreka, were already there.

The males played a game on a set of screens to the left, while the alabaster alien was on the floor. She wore one of the long t-shirts the girls had bought for her, although she had cut slits up the bottom sides of this one, as she had the others I had seen her wear. Boxes surrounded her, and she was busy putting pieces together. She had a device about four feet long and two feet wide already built.

Tiriffa lay on her back with her butt and legs against a wall above her. She wore one of the fluffy white robes I had stocked in the Overlook, and in her blue, three-fingers hands was her tablet, although it lay on her stomach. She stared up at the ceiling with her orange starburst eyes, appearing as though she was daydreaming.

Serreka looked up at us and said, “Hello, Razorwing and Rayna.” The boys looked back and waved, while Tiriffa didn’t register that we were there.

Rayna and I said, “Morning guys.”

Rayna walked over to the boys and sat down behind them. She said, “Cool, Call of Duty?”

Mike said, “Yeah, you play?”

“Uh, yeah.”

I smiled and watched her for a moment, and then walked back to the restroom, picked up a few towels, and brought them back to the command center. I wrapped one around Rayna and kissed her on the cheek.

She grinned at me, “You are so not evil.”

“Oh, I’ll show you evil tonight.”

Jim glanced back, a huge grin on his face as he looked at Rayna. He said, “Nice.”

Rayna blushed and kissed me, but then tried to push me away, not that she was remotely strong enough to do so. I winked at her and turned to Serreka, who was staring at us with her huge green eyes. I smiled and walked over to her, and then pulled a chair from the conference table near her to sit down.
